Job Summary:
Servers at Gridiron Gastropub are vital to delivering an outstanding dining experience, acting as the main point of contact between guests and the restaurant. They are responsible for taking orders, making menu recommendations, and ensuring that food and beverages are served promptly and accurately. Servers must possess excellent communication skills, a thorough knowledge of the menu, and a keen attention to detail. They are also responsible for managing multiple tables, handling guest requests, and addressing any issues with professionalism and grace. Collaboration with the kitchen and bar teams is essential to ensure that orders are fulfilled to the highest standard. Servers play a key role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, ensuring that each guest has a memorable experience while upholding the restaurant's reputation for exceptional service and hospitality.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
· Provide warm, friendly, and professional service to all guests.
· Address guest needs and requests promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.
· Work cohesively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
· Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to meet service standards.
· Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the dining area, kitchen, or bar.
· Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure compliance with local regulations.
· Execute tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
· Ensure accuracy in all aspects of the job, from order taking to food preparation and billing.
· Address any issues or concerns during service promptly and professionally.
· Assist in finding solutions to improve guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
· Engage with guests in a polite and respectful manner to ensure they feel valued.
· Handle guest feedback and complaints with a focus on resolution.
· Participate in training sessions and stay informed about menu changes and policies.
· Continuously improve skills and knowledge relevant to your role.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Desired Qualifications:
· Minimum of High School Diploma or GED. Associates Degree preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years serving experience, preferably in full-service environments.
· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends & holidays as necessary) is required.
· Must be a flexible and reliable team player, both within own department and entire organization.
· Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of performance, working quickly without compromising quality.
· Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters while maintaining confidentiality.
· Proven ability in Microsoft Office Suite and other Point of Sales Systems
Physical Requirements for Position
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
The ability to work in various Ohio weather conditions, inside and outside.
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain, steps, or in construction zones.
The ability to see and respond to hazardous situations.
The ability to sit, stand, squat, and walk for periods of time as required for the position.
Must be able to hear, see, and speak.
Ability to comprehend instructions and retain information.
Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties.
Must be available to work in Canton, Ohio.
